VP Pence In Dallas For Event At First Baptist, Meeting With Gov. Abbott

    Vice President Mike Pence met with local leaders and health experts in Dallas Sunday to discuss how Texas is dealing with huge spikes in new coronavirus case

    The Vice President arrived at Dallas Love Field around 10 a.m. and spoke on the tarmac with Governor Greg Abbott, Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), Texas House Speaker Dennis Bonnen, Attorney General Ken Paxton and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson.

    Pence was joined by Dr. Deborah Birx, Senator John Cornyn and others. Pence says it was important to come to Dallas.

    Pence says they discussed ways to accelerate testing and the returns of those tests, and he’ll be taking that information back to the coronavirus task force and private partners. 

    Following the church service, Pence and Abbott met at UT Southwestern Medical Center for a roundtable.
