Wheeler County (KRLD) - The picture on Facebook of Braden Moore and Marcus Rose shows them resting on a truck as they were fighting a fire.

The smoke and smog surrounded them as they tried to fight fires in Gray and Wheeler counties in the Panhandle. Both have full-time jobs working in oilfields and put out fires as volunteer firefighters for Wheeler County after work.

"We're just chasing wildfires. It's been out of control. We need some rain," Marcus Rose tells KRLD.

A fellow firefighter took the picture of Marcus Rose and Braden Moore.

"We were just sitting on the truck waiting for the next fire. We just laid back and took a nap," Rose said.

The men are exhausted after going to six field fires across some 25,000 acres. Rose said he got about three hours of sleep last night.

"I just hope everyone understands this is volunteer and we're putting our hearts into it. We're trying to save houses and acreage and everything that we can," said Rose.

Investigators are trying to figure out if an arsonist may have caused the fire.
