GRAND PRAIRIE (KRLD) - Police in Grand Prairie are searching for a man they say impersonated a police officer in order to sexually assault a woman over the weekend.

The incident happened late Friday night along East Jefferson. "She was stopped by a black SUV with red and blue lights that appeared to be a police car," said Grand Prairie Police Department spokesman Mark Beseda. "That was not a police officer. It was someone impersonating a police officer. He asked her to step back to the rear of his vehicle where she got into the back seat as if someone was being arrested...and she was assaulted sexually by this police impersonator."

"We are concerned about this," Beseda said. "The suspect was wearing a black tactical-style police uniform. He had a police utility belt and what appeared to be a police badge."

The victim was able to provide a detailed description of the suspect to police. Police say he's a Hispanic male, approximately 25 years old, 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 250 pounds. He had black slicked-back hair, a mustache with stubble on his face and thick eyebrows. Police are asking anyone who recognizes him from these sketches or has information about the case to call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 972-988-8477 (TIPS).
