DALLAS (KRLD) - The average price for a gallon of gas in Texas is $2.63 per gallon. Daniel Armbruster with AAA Texas says Dallas and Fort Worth are tracking higher, at the same rate as the rest of the state.

"For Dallas-Fort Worth prices did go up this week. Dallas and Fort Worth both sitting at $2.68, that's up three-cents on the week and for Dallas, 51-cents higher than what we were paying a year ago, Fort Worth, 52-cents higher."

There is one exception to the painful pump experience in North Texas. The Sherman-Denison area has the cheapest gasoline in Texas this week, with the average price a dime less expensive, than the statewide average.
