Report: Allen Hurns To Sign With The Cowboys

March 23, 2018 - 12:00 pm

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys are signing free agent wide receiver Allen Hurns, according to multiple reports.

ESPN's Josina Anderson was the first to tweet out the news.

Hurns later replied to Anderson's tweet with a raised fist emoji, seemingly indicating that a deal is immenent.

According to multiple reports, Hurns will receive a two-year, $12 million deal.

When asked if the Cowboys had a deal in place with Hurns, a source close to 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher says that the club is "working on numbers" with the former Jacksonville Jaguars wideout.

Hurns had 51 catches for 677 yards and six touchdowns in 2017. Over his four-year career, the 26-year-old has 180 receptions for 2,669 yards and 21 touchdowns.

It was initially thought that the signing of a young productive receiver would leave Dez Bryant's future with Dallas in doubt. However, Fish's sources tell him that the agreement with Hurns is "so affordable" that Dallas intends to also retain Bryant.

Bryant, who has been a rumored cut-casuality for most of the offseason, joined the Ben and Skin Show on February 23 to talk about taking a pay cut.

“I haven’t heard a word on that. I’m just controlling the things I can control,” Bryant said. When asked for further clarification, Bryant said, “I have yet to talk to my agent about anything.”

Later in the interview, when asked a more direct question about taking a pay cut, Bryant said, “That’s a discussion for me and my agent, the Jones family and the Dallas Cowboys.”

Bryant also spoke on several other things and believes he has what it takes to have a bounce-back season.

“I promise you, I’m going to shut a lot of people up,” Bryant said.

This is a developing news story.
