NOCONA (1080 KRLD) - The reward is growing in Montague County where a family's prized Longhorn steer was killed last weeek.

The 13-year-old steer named "Bud" was shot on January 13th in a pasture at Jagged Edge Ranch a few miles southeast of Nocona.

The family who owns Bud is putting up a $3,000 reward, but the Star-Telegram reports other ranchers are contacting the family to add to the fund.
