Southlake Police Looking For Gap Store Theft Suspects

SOUTHLAKE (KRLD) - Southlake police are asking the public to help them identify two suspects in a theft at a department store earlier this month.

In a series of tweets, authorities say a female suspect was caught on camera "allegedly" stealing an employee's wallet out of a purse at the Gap in Town Square at 167 Grand Avenue.

The suspect then allegedly stole another employee's wallet on the way out and was looking to leave the store when an employee approached her asking if she needed any help. Trying to think quickly on her feet, the suspect said she was looking for her missing niece.

Police say the employee at the store immediately informed everyone that they were going into lockdown mode and no one could come or go until the child was found.

The female suspect, along with a male suspect, then "act like they're searching for the child" along with the help of others. Suddenly, the female suspect says the girl is safe outside the store.

The duo then allegedly went to Irving and bought $700 worth of giftcards.

The female suspect is about 5-foot-7 and about 160 pounds. She wore a headband, gray leggings, and a gray shirt.

The male suspect is about 6-foot-2 and about 170 pounds. He was dressed in blue jeans and had on an ADIDAS shirt and hat.
