Storms Cause Damage in Hillsboro, Waxahachie

October 13, 2018 - 9:53 pm

DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Severe weather that triggered Tornado Warnings on Saturday destroyed several homes in Hillsboro and Waxahachie.

After the storms, ariel tours above Hill and Ellis Counties show the storm's destructive path. According to surveyors, debris, downed power lines, and at least two homes were completely destroyed.

In Waxahachie, Fire Department officials say that the storm knocked over 4 or 5 light poles.

The National Weather Service did issue a Tornado Warning for Hill County Saturday afternoon, but storm teams will have to assess the area before it can be determined whether the damage was caused by a tornado or straight line winds.

The weekend storms add to the wet weather trend in North Texas and continue to cause flooding problems across the metroplex.
