DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - A line of supporters of President Donald Trump stretched around several blocks near the American Airlines Center before dawn Thursday for his rally.

Some at the front of the line have been waiting since Tuesday. Many brought tents, sleeping bags and chairs.

"Trump is the best thing that's happened to this country," one woman said.

"I've watched every one of his rallies on TV," another said. "This is the first time I've been able to come to a live one."

Once the plaza outside the American Airlines Center opened, people were able to leave the sidewalk to wait for the doors to open.

Dallas police have closed Olive Street and All-Star Way. Houston Street and Victory Avenue were scheduled to close at 5 p.m. Thursday. The rally starts at 7 p.m.

Several people selling souvenirs set up along Olive Street Thursday morning. One woman says she travels to rallies for the president, members of Congress and Republican causes. She was selling dolls, signs and even socks with President Trump's face.

"They love it," she says. "They love the stuff here."

She says she hopes to make $15,000 from this rally alone.
