Suspect In Vanessa Guillen’s Disappearance Dead From Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound

    KILLEEN (1080 KRLD)- The suspect at the center of the investigation surrounding the disappearance of Fort Hood soldier Vanessa Guillen is dead after he shot himself as police and U.S. Marshalls closed in on him.

    The Killeen Police Department with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force assisted investigators located the suspect in the 4700 of East Rancier Avenue at approximately 1:29 a.m..

    Just as officers were attempting to make contact with the suspect, he displayed a weapon and shot himself.

    The suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Ofelia Miramontes, the public affairs liason for the Killeen Police Department.

    The suspect's name has not been released.
