EDGECLIFF VILLAGE (1080 KRLD) - A 17-year-old Edgecliff Village girl the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office had been looking for is home safe.

"We actually made contact with the missing girl (Olivia Mathews) and convinced her to leave where she was and meet us at a payphone," says David McClelland with the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office. "Our deputies then went (and) picked her up and talked with her and drove her home and dropped her off at her parents’ house."

Olivia had last been seen at around 6:15 yesterday evening getting into a car near her house, which was captured on surveillance video.

"We believe she did leave voluntarily," says McClelland, "and we believe that at this point it looks like she was not in danger."

McClelland said earlier that the investigation revealed a possible threat to her parents.

It turns out that information came from Olivia.

"She left some information in a note saying that her parents are being threatened," McClelland says. "We're looking at to why the daughter felt the need to do that."
