FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - A teen and her family are suing the City of Fort Worth for $1,000,000 claiming city employees did nothing to stop the underaged girl from being sexually assaulted multiple times while working at the city's animal shelter.

The lawsuit says the victim was 15-years-old when she started volunteering at the Fort Worth Animal Care and Adoption Center. There, she worked closely with Christian Morgan, a married man in his 30's.

The lawsuit claims Morgan started a sexual relaitonship with the teen. It also says city employees were aware of the relationship, but didn't stop it.

In March, the victim told her family what was happening. They took it to police and the city, and that's when the lawsuit claims the family discovered that the girl's supervisors already knew what was happening.

The family is suing for the city's lack of interference.

The City of Fort Worth says Morgan was fired from the shelter. He's been indicted on sexual assault charges
