DALLAS (KRLD) - President Trump said Monday he would be willing to consider providing written testimony in the ongoing impeachment inquiry.

The president responded to comments made by U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Sunday.  In an appearance on CBS' "Face the Nation," Pelosi said President Trump has "every opportunity to present his case."  In an exclusive interview with program moderator Margaret Brennan, Pelosi said, "The president could come right before the committee and talk, speak all the truth that he wants if he wants."

Pelosi, the Democratic leader in the House, also said she believes the president's alleged actions regarding Ukraine are worse than those by President Richard Nixon before his resignation in 1974.

KRLD's Chris Sommer got a reaction to the story from SMU political science professor Matthew Wilson. Listen to the interview below.
