"From Dust to Deluge"

Rainfall totals from last March through the end of July were more than 10 inches BELOW normal, this caused our ongoing drought to accelerate here in North Texas.

But, relief came shortly after...and with a vengeance! On August 9th, the 6-day deluge of rain started across North Texas, dropping up to 9"of rain in areas. The same thing happened earlier this month adding up to as much as 18 inches of total rainfall in 5 weeks. Unfortunately, these totals don't look as impressive where daily rainfall records are kept. Officially, DFW Airport measured almost 6 inches during this time frame, which is still well ABOVE seasonable norms.

All this being said, our drought is starting to fade away due to all the recent rain.
