DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - A man who now calls North Texas home is remembering two of his former coworkers who were killed in the Thousand Oaks shooting.

Jake Weiss used to work security for Borderline Grill. Following the Las Vegas shooting last year, the country bar became a sort of refuge for survivors in that area. Some of them were there this week, and now have to cope with living through the same tragedy twice in a lifetime.

Weiss says one of those dead is bartender Sean Adler, who he says was both a father and brother figure to him. They also coached a local California wrestling team together.

Weiss also remembers his former coworker Justin Meek, who saved several lives before he was killed.

Included among the dead are a local sheriff's sergeant and the suspected gunman.
