ARGYLE (KRLD) - A school in North Texas canceled classes Thursday because of a threat that included the school's name. Someone posted a threat against a "Liberty" school on Snapchat, but the threat did not say where the school is.

Schools across the country that include the word "liberty" say they were notified about the threat by students.

In Argyle, Liberty Christian School sent a letter to parents notifying them that classes would be canceled Thursday.

"Although this Snapchat posting isn't clearly directed at Liberty Christian School, it is out of an abundance of caution that we are choosing to take action," the letter says. "We realize we are being incredibly cautious. Administration agrees this is the best course of action."

Liberty Christian School says teachers will contact students about final exams.

Police now believe the threat was directed at a Liberty High School near St. Louis, Missouri.
