SOUTHLAKE (1080 KRLD) - The Texas Department of Agriculture reports finding a credit card skimmer at a Scooter's Superstore, 2150 E. Highway 114, in Southlake.

Official say they've turned the case over to police to investigate and remove the skimmer.

Skimmers have been used by thieves to get debit or credit card information from people who use them to pay at the pump to purchase gas.

The agency says you can protect yourself by watching out for Bluetooth signals at the pump. They say if your phone is picking up Bluetooth, that may be a sign a skimmer is trying to transmit information.

The Agriculture Department also urges people to  tell the cashier if the credit card reader is loose.
