BENBROOK (KRLD) - One person is in the hospital after an explosion and massive fire in a Tarrant County home Saturday night.

The 6,000 square foot house was in the 8000 block of Bella Flora Drive near Benbrook, in an unincorporated part of the county. No fire hydrants in the area meant fire crews had to bring in tanks of water to douse the flames. Fire officials say the house was basically destroyed by the time first responders arrived on the scene.

Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire. A propane gas leak could be to blame, although authorities say it's more likely that fumes from a lacquer being used by the work crew were ignited. A member of the work crew was injured in the explosion and transported by care Flight to the hospital. His condition is currently unknown.
