DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - A county court granted a temporary restraining order Thursday, against a Dallas recycling company.

The city revoked an operating permit for Blue Star Recycling, due to its "Shingle Mountain". But the city wanted a court to grant them the TRO to stop Blue Star from operating.

Many residents that live near the south Dallas plant say the mountain is a health hazard and dangerous.

Yolonda Bluehorse is a member of "Southern Sector Rising" and says its about time something was done.

"This company doesn't care. They come in and look at this area and feel its a lower income community and that these are throwaway people. It's environmental racism," she says.

In the past, Blue Star has said the company followed all state and local requirements and there were no environmental problems with the site.

A hearing in April will determine if the company should be permanently shut down.
