FORT WORTH (KRLD-AM) - An outgoing Tarrant County justice of the peace finds herself on the other side of the law.

Precinct Four Justice of the Peace Jacqueline Wright is facing four charges for allegedly filing for homestead exemptions on a house where she did not live.

According to the indictment, Wright filed on three occasions an over-65 exemption on a house on Ivy Hill Road in northwest Fort Worth, even though that was not her primary residence.

The indictment states that as a result, Wright defrauded six taxing entities out of at least $2500.

Wright has served as Precinct Four justice of the peace for 28 years.

She lost her re-election bid in the March primary but is serving until her term expires on December 31.
