BALCH SPRINGS (1080 KRLD) - More than a hundred animals have been seized from a property in Balch Springs.

The SPCA worked with the Balch Springs Animal Services office and police to seize 57 cats, 36 kittens and 11 dogs.

Officials with the SPCA say most of the dogs were confined to small wire crates, while the cats were roaming in rooms contaminated with feces and urine.

All of the animals were taken to an animal rescue center in Dallas to be evaluated.

There will be a custody hearing next week and the SPCA does expect charges to be filed in the case.
