Parents Demand Answers From DISD After Students Robbed

DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Several Dallas school students have recently been robbed and parents are demanding answers from school officials about what's being done to protect the kids.

Students attending Stockard Middle School in Oak Cliff were allegedly targeted by crooks last Friday as they headed home from school.

Adriana Morales says her son was one of those victims. He and his friends were forced to hand over their cell phones when a car full of men threatened to shoot them.

Morales tells NBC 5 she and other parents plan to ask why district police officers were nowhere nearby, as this happened near the school shortly after class was over.

In a letter sent to parents, Dallas ISD superintendent Michael Hinojosa suggests kids stay in groups while going home, and keep their phones out of sight.
