WEATHERFORD (1080 KRLD) - A Parker County sheriff's deputy has been shot while investigating a report of an illegal deer blind.

The Parker County Sheriff's office says the deputy was investigating a deer blind on private property in the 4700 block of Cattlebaron Road around 5:30 Monday afternoon.

Sheriff Larry Fowler says the deputy was responding to an illegal trespassing call. Fowler says someone shot the deputy as he walked up to the deer blind.

The deputy was hit in the leg and should recover. He has not been publicly identified as the sheriff's office notifies his family.

Fowler says deputies have not made any arrests. He says they blocked off the area around the shooting, in northeast Parker County, as they looked for evidence and tried to identify the shooter.

A $10,000 reward has now been offered for information leading to the suspect.
