DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - The National Transportation Safety Board is blaming the pilot of a small plane for a crash in Wise County a year-and-a-half-ago.

The plane went down in a bank of trees just after taking off from the Bridgeport airport.

A final report on the November 2016 crash says the pilot forgot to put a fuel switch in the correct position, meaning the engine was starved for gas.

The engine had enough fuel to get into the air, but shut down seconds later.

The pilot and her passenger both survived.
