MCKINNEY (1080 KRLD) - TXDOT has revealed its plan for making changes to Highway 380 across Collin County, but the debate may not be over yet.

At a public meeting last night in McKinney, TXDOT announced it's chosen the "red A alignment". That includes a bypass option that starts west of Ridge Road and east of Stonebridge Road in McKinney.

This plan supposedly would have the least impact on homes and businesses.

However, some people at last night's public meeting would prefer the bypass took a different route. Others still oppose any sort of bypass at all.

Reportedly, any work on Highway 380 could still take years to get underway, as TXDOT has to do an environmental study first.

Officials say it's possible they'll tweak their plan a little further.

There are two more meetings planned for TXDOT to share the plan and answer questions. One is tonight in Princeton at Princeton High School at 6:00 p.m. The other is on Thursday at Rogers Middle School in Prosper at 6:00 p.m.
