DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Plano and Frisco ISD are considering a drastic change to the class ranking system for high schoolers.

There's concerns that class rank is becoming too competitive. Some students in the districts agree, saying their peers focus too much on classes that would improve their ranking, even if they don't enjoy them.

However, other students tell NBC5 their ranking helped them stay successful in class.

Frisco ISD is looking at recommendations that would let only those in the top 10 percent know their specific ranking. Other students would only be told that they fall in the top 25 or 50 percent.

Plano ISD has heard similar recommendations, and both districts should be voting on this next month.
