FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - A plea by the Fort Worth kidnapping suspect will wait one more week, and the plea might not be “guilty” after all.

Court documents filed earlier this week indicate that Michael Webb, 51, has planned to plead guilty to one federal count of kidnapping.

But the hearing that had been scheduled for this morning has been pushed back to next Wednesday.

The U.S. attorney’s office says Webb chose not to enter that guilty plea this morning and is having second thoughts about doing so.

Webb is charged with abducting an eight-year-old girl at random and sexually assaulting her.

Webb faces 20 years to life in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.

Should Webb ever be released from prison, he would have to register as a sex offender.
