DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - A recent shooting near a Dallas high school might be connected to a string of robberies.

Two students at Sunset High School were walking to the main school building from a satellite classroom, when a group of people tried to lure them over. The students kept walking, and someone in that group fired a gun into the air. The group drove away. The students were not hurt.

Sunset High is in the general area where several robberies have taken place. Other Dallas ISD students have been held at gunpoint and robbed of their cell phones. These robberies have happened at or near Kimball High School, Roosevelt High School, Zan Holmes Middle School and Stockard Middle School. Investigators wonder if this shooting incident could be connected.

School officials are reminding students to walk in groups when possible, and always be aware of their surroundings.
