DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Police in Aubrey have arrested 37-year-old Lisa Neyland on a charge of injury to a child.

Her son, 4-year-old Kaysen Neyland, was found alone inside an SUV at the family home in Providence Village on June 20th.

He was unresponsive and was rushed to a hospital. Police say he died two days later of heat-related injuries.

Police investigated the case and obtained a warrant for the arrest of Lisa Neyland. She surrendered today at the Denton County Jail.

Across the country, 17 children have died after being left in hot cars this year.
