MCKINNEY (1080 KRLD) - Will the McKinney School District be forced to cancel football games this year? There are still problems with that new $70 million high school football stadium.

Ihe McKinney Independent School District was planning to open the stadium this fall but found cracks in three different parts of the stadium about a month ago. The district hired an engineering firm that says the cracks are not damaging any support structures, but school board President Curtis Rippee says six of the seven options to fix the cracks would mean the stadium could not open in time for the football or soccer season.

Bird says the cracks are not dangerous, but could affect how the stadium holds up to wear and tear long-term.

The district's Chief Financial Officer says it'll take another six weeks for all of the investigative reports to come in, so the board can't take any action until August.
