DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Reports say Texas Health Resources may be out of the Blue Cross-Blue Shield insurance network, and it could be as soon as this Sunday.

Texas Health owns Presbyterian Hospital, Arlington Memorial, Harris Methodist, and other North Texas hospitals and physicians' groups.

Their contract with Blue Cross - Blue Shield of Texas is expiring and Texas Health Rescources reportedly has new demands for the new contract.

Doctor Paul Hain with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas says that would make business health care plans unaffordable.

"Specifically, they want to be paid $1 billion more, on top of what is already being paid over the life of the contract." says Dr. Hain.

Dr. Hain says negotiations continue, but show no progress.

KRLD has contacted Texas Health Resources to find out their stance on the negotiations, but have not yet heard from them.
