DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Dallas voters will decide today who will fill the city council seat left open by former councilman Dwaine Caraway.

Caraway resigned in August after pleading guilty to federal corruption charges.

It comes down to two candidates in today's runoff election: former Dallas council member Carolyn King Arnold and activist Keyaira Saunders.

Arnold has been using her previous council experience to inspire confidence in voters.

Saunders, who has worked with Next Generation Action Network, has limited civic experience. However, she has been positioning herself as an eager reformer.

The winner of this runoff election will finish out the last 7 months of Caraway's term, and can run for re-election in May.
