SOUTHLAKE (1080 KRLD) - The Carroll ISD school board has begun debating the idea of having random drug tests for students involved in after-school activities.

The school board heard from speakers and from officials after a survey was taken of what parents thought about the idea of randomly testing those involved in extra curricular activities for drugs.

One parent says she's all for it.

District officials say of the thousands who responded, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

Some that spoke wanted to make sure the tests where random, and some felt all students should be subjected.

The board delayed any kind of action until they can hold a workshop with parents and students to get their opinions
