Seahawks Release Boykin After Being Accused Of Assaulting Girlfriend

March 27, 2018 - 5:49 pm

DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Former TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin has been released by the Seattle Seahawks after his girlfriend accused him of assaulting her in a story written by WFAA.

The Seahawks made the announcement on Twitter Tuesday but didn't address why he was let go.

Boykin's girlfriend Shabrika Bailey told WFAA in an exclusive story that she suffered a broken and swollen jaw that had to be wired shut after the two were involved in a domestic dispute at his home in Mansfield.

"So he goes into a choke. I remember him choking me and I'm trying to calm him down. And I just couldn't. And I blacked out. I just couldn't calm him down at all,” Bailey told WFAA.

"The pressure was just hard. The pressure got hard to where I just remember just collapsing completely. And I just woke up in a puddle of blood on the kitchen floor. My whole right side was full of blood on the kitchen floor."

WFAA reports that detectives from the Mansfield Police Department arrived at Bailey's home in Mesquite Tuesday morning to conduct a review.

Detectives now say Boykin is under investigation.

In a statement later Tuesday, Boykin called the allegations, "fabricated."
