DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - The Richardson woman who is facing a child abandonment charge for the death of her 3-year-old daughter will not get out of jail this week.

Mathews was brought to court Friday only to see her bond reduction hearing delayed.

"She's doing quite well," her attorney Philip Parker says. "She's talking, she's doing good.

Mathews has been jailed on $250,000 dollars bond since her arrest in 2017.

She and husband Wesley Mathews are accused in the death of 3-year old Sherin Mathews. Sherin was found dead weeks after the couple claimed she wandered off from their home.

Wesley Mathews faces a far more serious charge of capital murder.
