April 22, 2019 - 1:12 pm

AUSTIN (1080 KRLD) - Authorities say all six people aboard died this morning in a small plane crash near Kerrville, northwest of San Antonio.

The FAA says the twin-engine Beechcraft had taken off from an airport outside Houston. It went down while preparing to land in Kerrville.

The flight was not a scheduled commercial flight, but federal authorities have not yet confirmed the plane's tail number, said Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Lynn Lunsford.

DPS officials say federal investigators are on the way to the scene.

It was the second deadly aviation incident in less than 24 hours.

Two people died Sunday afternoon when their small plane crashed northwest of Austin.

There was a low layer of broken clouds but no rain in the area around the airport at the time of the crash, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Cory Van Pelt.
