Southlake Home Depot Identity Theft

SOUTHLAKE (KRLD) - Southlake police say one of their residents got his identity stolen, and got a Home Depot bill for tens of thousands of dollars.

Police say it was May 31st when the suspect went into a Home Depot in Burleson and opened up a new credit card account using the victim’s name, date of birth, address, social security number, and phone number. Officer Brad Uptmore says at this time they aren't exactly sure how the suspect got the information, but over the next two weeks hit 11 Home Depots all over North Texas.

"Right around the 19th, the victim got the bill and contacted police. The grand total was $17,144.03," he says.

Surveillance footage of the suspect shows he is a white male in his late 30s or early 40s, around 6’00” tall, clean cut, and possibly bald. He has a tattoo on his right leg above his foot.
