AUSTIN (1080 KRLD) - A statue of James Hogg, the son of a Confederate general, will be going back up on the campus of UT-Austin.

The statue was removed last year when several other confederate momuments were removed from campus, but UT  President Gregory Fenves announced yesterday the statue will be re-erected.

Hogg was the first Texas born governor and was a child during the Civil War.

Fenves says Hogg and his family made many contributions to UT and re-installing his statue is a salute to his legacy.

The Will C. Hogg Building on campus is named after the former Governor's son.
