DALLAS (KRLD) - After getting their 20th consecutive win in dominating fashion, the Allen Eagles remain ranked as the state's top team in Class 6A.

After Thursday's 49-14 win over Plano in the district opener, Allen received 21 of 25 first-place votes to rank No. 1 in the Associated Press 6A poll.  The 6A Top Ten was unchanged from last week, with Duncanville remaining at No. 7 and Southlake Carroll holding at No. 8.

A trio of North Texas teams are poised to enter the 6A top ten, should any of the teams above them stumble.  Euless Trinity, DeSoto and Cedar Hill are 11th through 13th in the latest poll.

In Class 5A, Aledo, Highland Park and Denton Ryan are again 1-2-3.  Frisco Lone Star slid two spots to No. 7.

In Class 4A, unbeaten Argyle held onto the No. 2 spot behind top-ranked Carthage.  Midlothian Heritage moved up a notch to No. 3.  Stephenville tumbled four spots to No. 9 in 4A, while Melissa fell four spots to No. 10.

In Class 3A, Gunter stayed at No. 4 for another week, while Brock slipped a notch to No. 8.  In 2A, Muenster remained at No. 4.
