SAN ANTONIO (KRLD) - As the Trump administration misses the deadline to reunify the youngest migrants separated from their parents at the Mexican border Democrats are calling for the Judge to take action.

San Antonio Congressman Joaquin Castro, Vice Chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, stood on the US Capitol Steps accusing the Trump administration of abusing human rights.

“We’ve been told that the administration can only reunite 54 of the 102 children who were expected to be reunited today. As of yesterday, only two of these 102 children have actually be reunited.”

Castro and Congressional Democrats are now asking the Federal judge to do more.

“Judge Sabraw should appoint a Special Master to ensure the government is in compliance with this process. That Special Master should be in charge of the reunification process.”
