DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Two hikers from Texas had to be rescued from a mountain in Colorado.

Officials say it took rescuers nearly 13 hours to get the man and woman off Quandary Peak near Breckenridge.

The couple said they changed plans after temps started to drop and snow began falling. They said they drifted off trail as they were trying to get down the mountain.

Rescuers said the hikers were in the initial stages of hypothermia when they were found. The couple was finally rescued early Saturday morning.

Quandary Peak is the highest summit of the Tenmile Range in the Rockies.
