Democratic Congressman Al Green of Houston says he plans to files articles of impeachment against President Trump by the end of the month.

Green is incensed over Trump's tweet at four freshmen congresswomen of color, in which he said they should go back to the countries they came from.

Lawmakers from both sides of the aisle have condemned the tweet directed at Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts.

Green says "these articles of impeachment will not be about the Mueller report.  The Mueller report deals with obstruction.  We can impeach this president for his bigotry in policy that is harming our society."

Green is 71 and African American. "I lived through the era of "go back to Africa." I had people tell me to go back to Africa. I wasn't born in Africa. I was born in Louisiana and I plan to stay here."

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has asked lawmakers hold off on starting impeachment proceedings.

Green says "We cannot allow political expediency to prevent up from going forward.  Political expediency says let's defeat him at the next election as opposed to impeach him now."

Green adds a president can be impeached more than once. And even if Trump survives impeachment, it will leave a mark on his presidency.
