Texas Lawmakers To Join President Trump For Rally In El Paso

DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - President Trump will leave Washington D.C. this afternoon for his rally in El Paso, and several Texas lawmakers, and protestors, are planning the greet him there.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott and U.S. Senators John Cornyn and Ted Cruz are all planning to join President Trump for the rally.

This will be the president's seventh rally in Texas, but his first in El Paso.

Sen. Cornyn's office says he'll speak at the rally.

While the president will hold his rally at the El Paso County Coliseum, protestors are planning what they're calling a march for the truth. The Border Network for Human Rights' Robert Heyman says Beto O'Rourke and current congresswoman Veronica Escobar will join the march.

El Paso ISD is closing schools near the coliseum early because of the rally.

Tresident Trump is planning to spend about two and a half hours in El Paso. He'll fly back to Washington tonight.
