HOUSTON (1080 KRLD) - Bond has been set at a $1,000,000, for a Texas man accused of hiring an assassin to kill a police officer.

Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo says the hitman business owner Mohammed Mohamedis hired, was an undercover detective.

Acevedo says police mounted a sting operation, and faked the targeted officer's death.

Prosecutors say Mohamed was arrested with cash in his possession, to pay the fake assassin.

"He hired a hitman to kill a police officer because he got tickets, for a grand sum of $2,000" said Acevedo.

Mohamed is charged with solicitation of capital murder.
