Texas Joins Nationwide Fight Against Robocalls

December 07, 2018 - 6:24 am

DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Texas is now part of a nationwide effort to stamp out robocalls.

Attorney general Ken Paxton has joined a bipartisan group of 40 other state attorneys general, who are working to review the current efforts to fight those unwanted robocalls.

Paxton says robocalls are a nuisance and an invasion of privacy.

The group is working to learn more about the technology and methods that could be used to reduce robocalls.

Once they have more information, they'll determine if there are better methods, and will make recommendations to the FCC about how to stop the calls.
