Texas Schools To Require Elementary Cursive Writing Courses

DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Starting next fall all Texas elementary school students will be required to take cursive writing. 

The Texas State Board of Education has modified the English Language Arts and Reading section of the state's cirriculim to require the writing. 

Second graders will have to learn to write cursive letters, third graders will have to be able to write in complete sentences using cursive. 

By fourth grade, students will have to be able to write complete homework assignments in cursive.
