They say everything's bigger in Texas and a photo at McKinney Falls State Park in Austin proves this to be true.

Texas Parks and Wildlife posted a photo of the Texas-sized Walking Stick on Facebook. The picture shows a male and a female.

Ross Winton with Texas Parks and Wildlife says the giant walking stick is the longest insect in the United States. The female can reach up to 7 inches in length. Winton says, "The social media buzz is picking up because a lot of other folks are seeing them. So, they could identify with the insect. They are also just shocked at the overall size of the insect. He says the insects eat leaves, they are harmless and not regularly observed.
