Texas will have a serious contender at the 2018 Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.

Houston's Post Oak squad completed a dominating four-game sweep in the Southwest Region in Waco Wednesday, shutting out Tulsa, 8-0, to win the title and advance to the big event starting next week.

The regional tournament featured title-winning teams from seven states, and Post Oak went 4-0.  They outscored their competition in Waco by a combined score of 43-5.

It will be Post Oak's first appearance in the Little League World Series.

Post Oak will join seven other U.S. teams and eight international teams in Williamsport.  The Texans will face the New England champion in their opening game on Thursday, August 16.

The U.S. championship game is scheduled for August 25.

The Little League world title - featuring the U.S. and international champions - will be played August 26.
