FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - This weekend's heavy rain led to the deaths of three people in Tarrant County Saturday.

The Fort Worth Fire Department says an 18-year-old woman and her 2-year-old daughter died in East Fort Worth when high water swept their car away as they drove on the frontage road of East Loop 820 near Wilbarger.

Friends of the family have started a Go Fund Me account to help the family pay for their funerals.

About a mile away, Fort Worth Fire says a 69-year-old man was found in a submerged vehicle.

The department says it received a call about a car being washed away, but crews had to wait until the water receded to find the car.

MedStar, the ambulance provider in Fort Worth, says it responded to 33 injury crashes between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday.

The Fort Worth Fire Department says it made 20 high water rescues on Saturday.
