An east Dallas stretch of Samuel Boulevard remains closed this morning due to last night's partial train derailment.

Just before 6:30 p.m. three cars of a 14-car freight train jumped the rails on Samuel near I-30, adjacent to the Tenison Park Golf Course.

One of the cars that remained on the tracks contained what police considered a hazardous material so a Dallas Fire-Rescue Haz-Mat team was called in as a precaution.

There was no spillage.

Police say the railroad company will bring in heavy equipment today to complete the clean-up.

But until then, that stretch of Samuel remains closed.
